Chalkboard art

Here is my first attempt at chalkboard art. It's pretty popular right now around the blog community and of course, Pinterest. So I thought I'd give it a try. I decided to use one of my favorite scriptures as my inspiration. The perfect example of how to LOVE, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. I think it turned out pretty good considering I've never done anything like it before. But, next time I think I will use an assortment of fonts from my computer as my guide. I just kind of free handed these ones and clearly I only have 3 or 4 fonts to choose from in my brain. :)

You can call me a faux fashion blogger, if you please.

I tried my hand at being a fashion blogger today, go check me out at  www.stylinmommies.com. Hopefully I didn't do the fashion industry an injustice by pretending to know what I'm doing. Shhh... If you won't tell, neither will I.

miss zooey's first birthday party

Zooey turned 1, I can't believe it! This year has truly flown by. It makes me sad that my baby is well,  not a baby anymore. We celebrated with family and friends at our home, the theme for this little lady was a tea party. What little girl hasn't pretended to play tea party? I am looking forward to the days when Zooey and I can play those games together. Guests were encouraged to dress in their sunday best. We dined on cakes, cookies, and sweets until our tummies couldn't take any more. My dear friend sara makes my children's parties that much sweeter with her amazing cakes and cupcakes. She spoils them and to be honest, I love it. I love that she loves them. A one year old gets a cake that could easily pass for one of the layers on a wedding cake? Yep, that comes standard in my house. We love you Sara!
A few ideas came from the help of pinterest. But for the most part, the jumping off point really was the beautiful birthday banner from Rifle Paper Co. That woman is such an inspiration, I love everything she makes.

*I'm thinking of making a tutorial for my petite pom pom's I made for the party. Super easy.

Happy birthday my pretty girl, we love you so much! You have brightened our lives so much. You are SO worth it!

The state of affairs

If you came knocking at my door this very instant this is what you would find:

A baby crying, vacuum cleaner running, radio disney blaring, a toddler throwing newspaper all over the living room, me- unshowered, no bra, still in my pajamas, yes I know it's 2 o' clock, yelling at the toddler not to throw the newspaper, or kiss the window, make a mental note to add wash windows to my chore list, feed the two kiddos lunch, while shaking a bag of caesar salad for myself to eat, laying the baby down for a nap, a mountain of laundry sitting in my arm chair, sweeping up crumbs from breakfast and lunch that will just return after dinner, telling the toddler to eat a hundred times (slow/easily distracted eater), tell your toddler to stop licking the ranch from his plate and dip his chicken nuggets in it instead. Put toddler to bed. Aaaah, me time...
Toddler starts kicking the bed and laughing, wakes up baby, toddler gets in trouble, lay both of them back down, both are crying, toddler is still talking, baby is still crying from being woken up, guess I have to go back in there, who's stupid idea was it to buy a two bedroom house? Oh, right both mine and my husbands, idiots.  Just another typical friday afternoon at my place. Wanna hang out?
