currently loving

This perfectly lovely candle by DayNa Decker has made it's home on one of my side tables in the living room. I love lighting it after the kiddies go to bed and just sit, relax, and inhale it's sweet and musky scent. Delish. Anything you're currently loving?

Vampire babies

Want to know what happens when your eldest child wins a pair of vampire teeth from a machine at a pizza parlor? You get vampire babies, of course.

Vintage High Chair and ASCP

My good friend Ashley was gifted her babyhood high chair from her mother, what a sweet and sentimental gift don't you think? Although, the wood was in gorgeous condition it wasn't stable for actual use. So she asked if I could give it a cute little makeover for decoration in her home.

I used annie sloan chalk paint in pure white, distressed it, and waxed it with Minwax natural paste finishing wax.

So cute and so girly, now she gets to look at something pretty and feminine in a house FULL of boys. Enjoy, Ashley!

Items needed:

Kraft paper
electrical tape
fabric
ribbon
sharpie
rubber stamps
ink pad
scotch tape

Needing some last minute ideas for some creative gift wrapping? Create your own! It's so simple, I let my 3 year old stamp away on kraft paper I picked up from the dollar tree. I then made a bow out of electrical tape, drew some haphazard stripes with a sharpie, and tied up the remaining packages with left over fabric and ribbon I had in my craft room. So easy, so simple people with think you spent so much time on it! Enjoy!

Things I thought I'd never have to say: no.5437

Have you ever had that moment as a parent where you realize, "wow, I never thought I'd have to say that. " Yesterday I had one of those moments.
My son is in the process of potty training, we've conquered the peeing part of it, yay! The... ahem, #2 portion of it we are working on. So as I'm trying to cook breakfast or wrap presents, or something, I hear: "NO, ZOOEY! DON"T PLAY WITH MY POOP!!!" "NO, ZOOEY!" I run to their bedroom to find, much to my horror. My son pointing to three small piles of excrement and my daughter with a handful of it heading towards the play kitchen. All I could think of to say was, "NO ZOOEY! ICKY, WE DON'T PLAY WITH YOUR BROTHER'S POOP!!!" Yes, this really happened. Yes, I am totally embarrassed, but clearly not so emotionally scarred I can't share it with you. You're welcome. How's that for a month long writing hiatus.
