Let me set up the situation for you...
Date night.
Olive garden.
*A cold that may turn into a sinus infection.
While eating my eggplant parmigiana and simultaneously trying to eat and breath through my mouth. Classy. (my worst nightmare; people think that I'm a mouth breather for realzees).
Where was I, oh right, while eating and chatting with the handsome hubby, mid conversation he said. "um, you have snot that's about to run out of your nose". Without skipping a beat went back to telling me about random things about his week away.
God, I love that man. Thank you for him.
True love is: even when I have snot running out of my nose and I'm a temporary mouth breather, he still thinks I'm the most beautiful woman in the world. How do I know? He tried hitting on me a few seconds after I wiped the snot away with a tissue.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
* I know I should have done the responsible thing and stayed home in my condition. But when someone gives you a free night of babysitting AND a gift card to olive garden. There is only one thing to do, man up and take a Sudafed.

The king over throws the queen
If the title confuses you, what I mean to say is we got a new bed! We got rid of our queen and went for the mac daddy of them all; The King. Not just any mac daddy, we splurged and got the tempur pedic cloud. I know, totally ridiculous. But as my wise sister in-law says " you can't put a price on comfort". Amen sista. Amen.
Last night was the first night sleeping on it. How does it feel? One word. AMAZING! I usually toss and turn because my hips and lower back hurt and I have to sleep with a pillow in between my legs for extra support. That is a thing of the past I am completely supported from head to toe. In short, it was WORTH. EVERY. PENNY.

Even Everett approves!

That just happened...
*A conversation that just occurred with my 2 1/2 year old.
Me: Everett, guess what? Auntie Kalynn is going to have a baby boy.
Everett: In your tummy?
Me: No, honey. In auntie Kalynn's tummy.
Everett: Where's your baby?
Me: Zooey is my baby, she's sleeping.
Everett: (while simultaneously trying to lift up my shirt) Where's Zooey's drinkies?
Me: Drinkies...???
Everett: (Laughing) Lifts up his shirt and points to his... er, nipples and says drinkies.
Oh dear, weening his sister is still 2 months away... Here's praying he can't remember this when he's older. And if he can't, I'll remind his prom date in 14 years.

Sincerely, SK is having a giveaway!

She is having a giveaway right now for a beautiful bubble necklace. I want it. bad. So, help me win it. Won't you? :) Go check out her blog, Sincerely, SK. She is a cutie pie with a great sense of style, and she says, Ya'll cause she's from Texas. Isn't that adorable?!? I wish I could casually use the word Ya'll in a conversation, but I'm from the pacific NW and I think I would get a few funny looks. But, seriously, go check her out. Go,Go,Go!

I found this great old picture at a yard sale the other day. Now I just have to find the perfect spot for it... decisions, decisions.

Things I learned on vacation
We are so blessed, every year we get to go to Sun River, Oregon. It is so beautiful and serene. I am very lucky to have in-laws who spoil us with a week long family vacation. Here are a few things I learned this year in Sun River:
If you buy this shirt, he will live up to it's name.
Cutest store in the old mill district of Bend. Should be renamed ' $100 dollar store'.
Water socks are a necessity at the kiddie pool (the bottom of the pool is like sand paper after a few hours). Bloody feet = party foul.
Your baby girl will decide it's the appropriate time to grow up. Learning how to clap, wave, pull her self up to her knees, and sit up by herself in one week's time. Stop it young lady, you are suppose to be my baby.
Looking through holes in the deck to the ground below equals hours of entertainment. OK, not hours, maybe minutes. But hey, minutes of not fighting sure is nice.
If you buy a boy a Duck sweatshirt; he'll want to wear it everyday.
Matching mommy-daughter gladiator sandals are a must.
Everyone looks good in black, even babies.
we should invest in a jacuzzi tub
Cousins that bathe together, stay together.
Getting to see REAL firetrucks, just like the one's daddy works on are pretty cool.

If you try to tell this joke to your husband; he won't laugh, like you thought he would. Em.barr.essing.
Being able to wear the same swim outfit two years in a row saves $$$.
Bouncy houses are the bomb.
If you buy this shirt, he will live up to it's name.
Crowds, heat, and no naps make little girls grumpy.
petting zoo's and lil' sebastian look a-likes are smelly.

twenty minute car ride naps are not fun for anyone while traveling.
Your dining room will look like this and stay like this after you unload the car.
It's sure good to be home.
